Italians Sunbathe on a beach with CHILDREN'S DEAD BODIES just metres away!!

The bodies of two drowned Roma children lie covered by towels on an Italian beach while holidaymakers carry on unfazed enjoying the sun.

Many Italians have such a deep-rooted dislike of the Roma, not even death fazes them.

Their bodies were left on the beach for an hour before being collected, just covered by a beach towel while people just got back to sunbathing and playing football.

A Naples coastguard spokesman said: "From what we have established these children had come from a camp at Giuliano near Naples on a train and had at first begged by the station."

Then they moved onto the beach and were selling trinkets and begging and as with all children they were drawn to the water but sadly two of them drowned.

"I need to work on my tan....f*ck the dead children!"....?????

Joyfalula....I love this post its brilliant, it shows that we inherantly have a soft spot for the plight of children.....we assume innocences for those who have not yet esperienced life...The thing most people are forgetting is RACISM does not make exceptions for age.....these children are unfortunately from Roma.....the best why I can explain this relationship is Canada and USA or England and Scotland.......x10. The Italians are good at making beautiful clothes, good a football (soccer) and pretty handy with racism to.....not suprised in the least.

Disclaimer: I have a few Italian friends....and I do not wish to call all Italians racist, but the ones who choose to be (a majority unfortunately) are good at it.

What is wrong with these people? I can't even imagine of sitting over there ignoring two dead bodies, child.

That is absolutely crazy!

That's disgusting. Here in Canada if there was a dead body on the beach - especially that of a child, people might be standing around in a hushed crowd. Some would be upset, some curious ... but it's unlikely that anyone in the general area would be going about their normal beach business.

I think you're missing the bigger picture here. In a country with "a deep-rooted dislike of the Roma", why would four children take a break from BEGGING, to have a swim, fully clothed in waters they clearly weren't comfortable with. Take the nonchalance of the reactions and it doesn't quite add up does it?

Good point Ben! When i think about it more deeply it does'nt really make sense that the four children threw caution to the wind AND thier duties of begging! Swimming fully clothed? thats odd too! Well i don't suppose there will be any kind of investigation judging by the reactions and the length of time it took to even collect the poor childrens bodies.....what a disgrace!

Wow! Not much more to say about that, yeah?

I've never seen a dead body in public without a ton of people standing around it while crying and carrying on about it all.

The casual attitude of this photo is downright shocking.

i can see i'm in the majority here, but if i were them i'd probably just move a little further down the beach, or if it were busy i'd stay put. not because i'm racist (i've never even lived in a country that's had "gypsies" to my knowledge), but just because they're well... dead.

not much can be done about it now, me standing feeling sad over the body of a complete stranger serves no purpose, and the fact they're young doesn't really make any difference in my mind.

now if the lifeguards (if they were present) were lax in their attempts to help the kids because of their race or nationality, i could certainly see that being horrendous. but it is, after all, "only" a couple of dead bodies - just because someone's heart strings don't react violently doesn't mean there's something wrong with them.

now if those people were to act differently with an italian kid drowned on the beach, i could certainly see your point. but as it stands, not so much.

I'm not so surprised. Been to Italy a few times, and I know for a fact that had I been run over by a Vespa, only a few would have broken their stride to even have a glance. Even the police would have been a bit bothered to come and provide some assistance.
Colder than the stereotype would have you believe over there.

I'm only surprised to see they hadn't broken out a bottle of wine to enjoy while soaking up some sun.

That is unbelievable!!!!!

The kids are already lifeless corpses. So, it's not like there was anything that could have been done to save them.

Maybe they shouldn't have even covered the bodies with the blankets. The bodies are dead. The blankets can't help them. But, maybe someone alive could have benefitted from the blankets.
